Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge is a unique timber-framed Tudor hunt standing built by Henry VIII in 1543. It has magnificent views of Epping Forest from its upper floors and permanent displays in its Tudor kitchen. Other displays include information on Tudor costumes, timber-framing and the history of Epping Forest.

Black History Month - Discover and draw Tudors

Discover the stories of ordinary Tudors described in historic sources as African or black. Help us decorate the Hunting Lodge with your drawings.

Tudor pyjama and welly party

  • 27 October 2016 6-9pm

Three spooky Tudor family activities at our 1543 hunt standing. Tudor snack mid- evening. Dress code optional: pyjamas and wellies. Bring additional clothing for a walk in the woods, weather permitting. Eight years plus. One adult per three children maximum. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
