The Museum, opened in 1988, was formed to archive and display the history of Emsworth and its surroundings, to make the public aware of Emsworth's historical position. The Museum is entirely run by volunteers, and has a selection of the area's history displayed in articles, books, pictures, clothing ships models.
There are displays devoted to the old sea-faring families, and to the author P. G. Wodehouse who lived in Emsworth and incorporated several local names into his books.
There is a special exhibition each month about people and events of local interest.
The Museum has an archive of Video and Audio tapes. These recordings can be accessed during the Museum opening times on request to the stewards.
