The Ventnor and District Local History Society purchased the architecturally interesting Spring Hill Premises that house the Ventnor Heritage Museum in 1987. Built in 1905 the building was originally a Furniture Shop later becoming a Car Showroom.

In addition to the items on view in the Exhibition Hall, the Museum houses an extensive Archive of many thousands of items relating to Ventnor and the surrounding area

The Museum is open between May and October

Tuesday - Friday 10 am - 4.30 pm
Monday & Saturday 10 am - 12.30 pm

and throughout the rest of the year Saturday Mornings 10am-12.30pm

Admission £1.50 (Concessions £1.00)

Heritage Open Days 2014: Ventnor Heritage Museum

The Heritage Museum has displays of local historical interest and this year's main display is 'Transports of Delight'.
There is a small display re WW1 and local people.
There are 2 model railway layouts.

The Museum has many photos and information about the local area including schools, the Royal National Hospital and St. Catherine's Home.

There is a computer for visitors to use which has Census, Burial and Street records plus the DVD of Ventnor and photos from the old Secondary School.
