Littlehampton Museum is in the heart of the town centre and offers a fascinating insight into the community’s social history through a variety of exciting galleries, many with audio points and interactive elements to help guide you through the history of the town. Admission and helpful advice is all FREE so come along and enjoy a visit to your local family museum.

ACCESS: ramped entrance - all displays on ground floor.

The collection includes a wealth of archaeological material from the surrounding area including Angmering Roman Villa, the Climping coin hoard and features Bronze and Iron Age exhibits. We also have an impressive fine art collection featuring work by A. Plant, Leslie Wilcox, Maurice Randall and Henry Nibbs. Our focus on the social history of the town is reflected in the galleries where you can use interactives to explore our collections on display.

Loan Box Service

We have a large and diverse loan box service of 28 packs aimed at KS2 and KS3. Topics covered are based in the National Curriculum and include:

Victorian Littlehampton, Wartime Littlehampton, Britain since the 1930s, Seaside History, Toys and Games and Maritime History.

We also cater for pre-school groups with a small range of early years loan boxes:
Topics include: 'Sensations', 'Outside' and 'Wash day'.

This service is FREE to all schools within the Littlehampton District, loans outside of this District are subject to a small charge. Please see our education page at to download our education policy.
