The bright and spacious Jersey Museum offers hours of interest and enjoyment. If you have always found museums ‘worthy but dull’ in the past, experience the future discovering why this one was voted ‘The Most Outstanding Tourist Attraction’ opening in the British Isles in 1992 and won the National Heritage Museum of the Year award in 1993-94.
The Jersey Museum is the gateway to the Island, its people, its customs and industries both past and present. A special film show brings the history of Jersey alive, whilst interactive video screens in ‘The Story of Jersey’ on the first floor allow you to discover more about things that interest and intrigue you most. Displayed in the Barreau-Le Maistre Art Gallery are works from the Museum’s extensive collection, and in the Merchant’s House, experience life in the 1860s with a visit to the schoolroom and bedrooms of the Ginestet family.
