Easter Fun

There’s a full menu of meals and light bites in our Refreshment Rooms, and plenty to keep the youngsters occupied with entertainment, colouring, crafts and an Easter Treasure Hunt.

Our friends from Haven Falconry will be presenting displays from our new Woodland Stage, plus we’re asking children to come in their Easter bonnets and join in our Easter Bonnet Parade each day at 1.45pm. (Children need to make bonnets in advance).

Spring Gala 'Dinosaurs of Island Steam'

  • 24 — 26 May 2014

A special Gala weekend to formally mark the return to steam of former Island 'Terrier' locomotive No. 11 'Newport' and newly-restored Ivatt tank locomotive No. 41298 – back in steam for the first time in over 40 years!

The weekend will also feature our other Island locos No. 24 'Calbourne' and No. 8 'Freshwater'. There will be numerous photo opportunities, with trains featuring mixed livery stock, plus a demonstration goods train.

To complete the weekend there will be guided workshop tours, a chance to explore our Train Story Discovery Centre and a full range of refreshments.
