Island Steam Days

  • 11 October 2015

Head back to the 1940s when lorry transport was in its infancy, to discover how the railways provided all our daily transport, taking food from the farm to the factory to the shops, and distributing goods and products from the ports to the towns.

As well as our scheduled passenger service our Heritage Goods Train will be in operation. Plus, explore our Train Story Discovery Centre and learn the story of our Victorian and Edwardian railway vehicles, and their lasting impact on all our lives!

The Heritage Goods Train runs to a special Working Timetable which can be seen HERE. Please note that passengers cannot be carried on the goods train.
