The collections of decorative arts include the Regency furniture and silver-gilt displayed in the Royal Pavilion, the Macquoid furniture at Preston Manor, the Willett Collection of ceramics illustrating popular history, and outstanding holdings of British and European 20th century decorative design and craft.

Fabula presents: Many ways to tell a story

Discover old stories retold in exciting new ways and new stories being shared for the first time in this display bringing together 17 of the artists of Fabula. Told through many different visual methods – drawing, making, animation, film and photography – there is something here to delight everyone.

Picture Time and Story

Use craft materials to make a picture based on things you can find in the museum and listen to a story.


£2 per child, drop-in. 2-5 years. Please note: A ‘first come, first served’ policy is in operation for drop-in sessions and events that do not require pre-booking.

Make a Story

Bring your imagination to this story-based Christmas decoration making workshop, led by Louise Dennis and Juliette Rajak of Fabula. Have some fun and make something fabulous for Christmas.
