Hove Museum & Art Gallery has undergone major redevelopment thanks to awards from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Regional Arts Lottery Fund, Brighton and Hove Council, The Headley Trust and The Friends of Hove Museum & Art Gallery. The redevelopment has resulted in a lift being installed, changes of floor level being ramped and improved visitor flow around the first floor of the Museum.
In addition the Museum’s key permanent collections of Toys, Film, Local History, Paintings and Contemporary Craft have been redisplayed. The new galleries will give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the collections as well as ensuring they are displayed safely to ensure preservation for future visitors.
Fully accessible, Café, shop.
Part of a Designated Collection of national importance is on display at this venue.

The collections of decorative arts include the Regency furniture and silver-gilt displayed in the Royal Pavilion, the Macquoid furniture at Preston Manor, the Willett Collection of ceramics illustrating popular history, and outstanding holdings of British and European 20th century decorative design and craft.

Robot Invasion!
Robots of many shapes and sizes invade Hove Museum in this show of robot force!
A vast range of robots and space toys from the collection of Sussex artist and illustrator Chris McEwan make up this exhibition. Marvel at the many designs, shapes and types of robot which reflect how hugely popular these toys have been and still are.
The exhibition proudly displays these iconic objects and provides inspiration and enjoyment for all ages. It celebrates our fascination with robots and the enduring impact they have on our imagination.

The Five Senses: Paintings from the Fine Art collection
The Five Senses is a family-friendly display that explores the variety of ways sensory experiences are portrayed in the visual arts.

My Favourite Toy
Everyone has a favourite toy. They inspire our imaginations, our play, and help us as we grow. In later years, they hold cherished memories and make us nostalgic for times gone by.
Whether it’s a teddy, dolls house or a transforming car, this exhibition celebrates toys of all kinds, from across the eras.
On display are toys from Hove Museum’s very own Wizard’s Attic along with some popular favourites, and others that have not been loved for some time.
Children and young people from Brighton & Hove have helped create exciting displays of their own favourite toys, celebrating our shared affection for these familiar friends.
