Come, see and feel the powerful and majestic “James
Watt” Beam Engines in full steam. These engines are still housed in their original High-Victorian engine house. Talk to the staff that operates and keep these magnificent machines maintained. The two 150 horsepower ‘James Watt & Co’ Beam Engines were installed to operate the new pumps in 1887. This new system proved very successful and is still the basis for today's underground drainage system on Portsea Island.

Parking available on-street outside the site or adjacent car park (approximately 300 metres away on the edge of Bransbury Park, Henderson Road)
