The Museum, which opened in 1981, is located in a Grade 2 listed Tudor town house in the historic market town of Waltham Abbey. The Service provides a range of exhibitions for the public. Three gallery areas are given over to semi -permanent exhibitions, while the two upper floor galleries are given over to a programme of changing temporary exhibitions, which are mainly created in house and are organised to appeal to a variety of audiences.
