Housed in an eighteenth century corn store, the Museum tells the story of Chichester and District from earliest times up to the present day. On the ground floor is the geology and archaeology gallery which explores areas such as the Iron Age, life in the Roman Army and Medieval Chichester. On the first floor displays show the development of Chichester from the seventeeenth century onwards. Find out about the seige of Chichester during the Civil War and how Georgian and Victorian Chichester development. The story finishes in the twentieth century.

Loan Boxes and Topic Packs are charged on a Half Termly basis on the following pay scale:
Schools/organisations within the Chichester District: £6
Schools/organisations outside the Chichester District: £12
Students (NUS card is required): FREE
Boxes/packs must be collected in person. Shorter-term loans and special loans can be provided upon request. An additional charge may be payable if booked loans are not collected.

To promote active learning, and the general interest of history, the Museum provides a Loans Service to schools and other organisations; in and out of the Chichester District. The service offers access to a wide range of resources on subject specific themes in the form of Loan Boxes and Topic Packs.
Each box contains a wide range of artefacts and support materials detailing what is contained, and how best to use it.
Each topic pack contains information boards, illustrations and photographs of the local area. Support material is also provided.
