Brooklands was the first purpose-built motor racing circuit in the world in 1907. It was also one of the most prolific aircraft production sites in Europe, with over 18,500 aircraft built or assembled at Brooklands by companies such as Vickers, Hawker, BAC and British Aerospace.

The Sunbeam Cafe is open all day during normal Museum opening hours. Hot lunches are served and a fine selection of teas and cakes throughout the day.

Our library is open to the public by appointment only.

The 30 acre Museum site displays a wide range of Brooklands- related motoring and aviation exhibits reflecting many great engineering and technological acievements throughout the 20th Century. These range from the 1933, 24-litre Napier-Railton racing car to a Wellington Bomber recovered from Loch Ness; a unique collection of Vickers/BAC-built aircraft and the only Concorde publically accessible in the South East. The Motoring Village also displays Brooklands record braking and Grand Prix cars, racing motorcycles and bicycles.

Classic Breakfast

Brooklands Classic Breakfast

  • 26 October 2014 8-10am

This Year we will be holding three classic breakfasts, Winter (February 16th), Spring (May 18th) and Autumn (October 26th). This is your chance to meet up with like-minded vintage and classic vehicle enthusiasts, have breakfast and admire the cars and motorbikes on show. The Motoring Village will open at 9.30am and the rest of the Museum will be open as usual from 10am. Subject to weather, Test Hill will be in action after breakfast with a briefing at 10.15am.


Breakfast is served in our Sunbeam Café from 8am - 9.45am and will include tea & coffee, sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, hash brown, tomatoes, beans, toast and butter. Childrens’ breakfasts are three of the above items + toast + drink.

Aircraft Factory

Brooklands Great War 100

  • 3 August 2014 10am-5pm

For this special event we will be gathering automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, commercial vehicles, buses and aircraft from the period up to 1919. In the paddock there will be a display of the vehicles taking part in the Great War Centenary Parade in London on the 4th August. At lunchtime these pre-war vehicles will be taking part in a Cavalcade round the Mercedes-Benz World circuit. Overhead will be a stunning air show from the Great War Display Team. On the ground, we hope to bring the Vimy to life, for the first time since it flew in in 2009.

Bertie takes a car ride at Brooklands Museum

School Summer Holiday Family Activities

Monday - Thursday this summer holiday (from 28th July – 29th August, excluding Bank Holiday Monday 25th) our popular car rides will be operating from 11am-1pm and from 2-4pm (subject to weather). For a requested donation of £1, take a trip in a vintage-style car up Test Hill and along the Members’ Banking of the old Brooklands Race Track, courtesy of the Brooklands Volunteer Car Rides Team. Bertie the Brooklands Bear will be making guest appearances and there will be trails for children up to 12 years old.

Further family activities will be scheduled for this day, please check back closer to the date.

A Mustang tackles Test Hill at Brooklands Museum

Mustang and Anything American Day

  • 17 August 2014 10am-5pm

Expect a feast of chrome and colour with some gleaming Dodges, Chryslers, Hot Rods and Customs in and around the Paddock. Cameras are a must for this event!

Cyclists tackle Test Hill

The Brooklands Cycle Festival

  • 14 September 2014 10am-5pm

For children there will be a scootathon at 11:00am - the competition will be held for three age groups: 3-5 years, 6-7 years and 8-10 years. Children aged 10 years and under who wish to take part in the competition may gain free entry to the Museum provided they are accompanied by an adult and bring their own scooter and safety helmet. On display and in action will be Penny Farthings and other historic bicycles, C5s from C5 Alive, and Raleigh Choppers. In the afternoon there will be ascents up Test Hill.

Sopwith Camel Engine Run

Brooklands Aviation Day

  • 21 September 2014 10am-5pm

This promises to be a day like no other at the Museum - the emphasis is towards the skies as we dedicate the whole site to Brooklands’ rich and varied connection with all things aviation. As well as flying displays, Helicopter Fly-ins and Aero engine runs, there will be family activities, including pedal-driven planes and rocket and windsock workshops.

John Reaks F1 Benetton at Brooklands Autumn Motorsport Day 2013

Autumn Motorsport Day

  • 12 October 2014 10am-5pm

Competition cars from all ages will be put through their paces on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World circuit and later in the day Test Hill will be in action. Expect to see a wide variety of competition cars from Formula 1, F5000 and GTs to touring cars and Group B rally cars. As ever, spectators will have the rare opportunity to see and hear competition cars at close quarters. All competition and classic cars welcome through the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road with public parking in The Heights off Wellington Way.

This is a premium event, so entry charges are £13 for adults, £12 for seniors, £6.50 for children aged 5-16, under 5s free and a family ticket is £34. Tickets for Brooklands Trust Members and members of LBPT are £2.
