Brooklands was the first purpose-built motor racing circuit in the world in 1907. It was also one of the most prolific aircraft production sites in Europe, with over 18,500 aircraft built or assembled at Brooklands by companies such as Vickers, Hawker, BAC and British Aerospace.

The Sunbeam Cafe is open all day during normal Museum opening hours. Hot lunches are served and a fine selection of teas and cakes throughout the day.

Our library is open to the public by appointment only.

The 30 acre Museum site displays a wide range of Brooklands- related motoring and aviation exhibits reflecting many great engineering and technological acievements throughout the 20th Century. These range from the 1933, 24-litre Napier-Railton racing car to a Wellington Bomber recovered from Loch Ness; a unique collection of Vickers/BAC-built aircraft and the only Concorde publically accessible in the South East. The Motoring Village also displays Brooklands record braking and Grand Prix cars, racing motorcycles and bicycles.

Vintage car ride on the Members' Banking of the old race track

Half Term Family Activities

On weekdays during Half Term, our popular car rides will be operating from 11am-1pm and from 2-3.30pm (subject to weather). Take a trip in a vintage-style car up Test Hill or along the Members’ Banking of the old Race Track, courtesy of the Brooklands Volunteer Car Rides Team. Also, London Bus Museum will be operating bus rides around the local area.

Look out for Bertie the Brooklands Bear, who will be making guest appearances, pick up one of our trails for children up to 12 years old or try out our Family Workshop.

The Napier-Railton Race Experience

Visitors to the Museum can now take their seats for the ride of their life in a brand new, state-of-the-art 4D Theatre. Just as John Cobb and Sir Malcolm Campbell did in the 1930s, you can now see, hear, feel and even smell what it would have been like to race around the concrete banked circuit in a pre-War racing car.

Classic Breakfast

Brooklands Classic Breakfast

Join us at our Sunday morning Breakfast Club. This Year we will be holding three Classic Breakfasts, Winter (February 15th), Spring (May 17th) and Autumn (October 25th).

This is your chance to meet up with like-minded vintage and classic vehicle enthusiasts, have breakfast and admire the cars and motorbikes on show. The Motoring Village will open at 9.00am and the rest of the Museum will be open as usual from 10am. Subject to weather, Test Hill will be in action after breakfast with a briefing at 10.15am.

It will be first come, first served, so arrive early enough in your classic and you will be able to park in the Paddock, with lots more parking just outside the Paddock. All cars are welcome to park on site until 9:30am, after which normal visitor car parking can be used.

Breakfast will be served in our Sunbeam Café AND the Vickers Suite from 8am - 9.45am Last tickets for the breakfast are sold on the gate at 9:30.

All cars for the Breakfast are welcome to enter the Museum via the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road.

All prices include breakfast and entry into the Museum.

MG cars on parade at Mercedes-Benz World

Brooklands MG Era

Come and join us as we welcome MGs of all ages to this annual event. There will be action on Test Hill, a Concours d’Elegance and a cavalcade on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit.

Parking for MGs only on the Museum site - access through the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road (the B374). Visitor parking will be in The Heights off Wellington Way or in our usual car park at Mercedes-Benz World.

London Bus Museum 42nd Spring Gathering

  • 19 April 2015 10am-5pm

The show is expected to attract up to 200 visiting buses and coaches, old and new, from London and all over the UK. There will be heritage bus trips, a huge selection of stalls and collectors market and, subject to operational conditions, visitors will be able to experience a ride on a horse bus.

All the Brooklands Museum attractions and displays will be open including cars, motor bikes, bicycles and aircraft.

Visitor parking will be in The Heights off Wellington Way - please follow event signage on the day.
