Unearthed Exhibition

Unearthed - Riches of the Romans and Anglo Saxons

This exciting exhibitioin explores grave goods and archaeological treasures discovered in Oxfordshire, displayed through themes including 'story and saga', 'belonging', and 'status'.
Explore objects created during the first millenium AD and dsicover the stories they tell us using state of the art touchscreen cases.

The Oxford Scribes

Write On

  • 3 May — 1 June 2014

Oxford Scribes is a society of calligraphers formed in 1984. Our "Write-On" exhibition is a celebration of 30 years of working together and also aims to look forward to a thriving future. We hope to demonstrate the great versatility of calligraphic arts and will be including an exciting installation, as well as historical and new work. In addition to more conventional framed work made with a brush or pen on paper or vellum, there will be books and boxes and unusual two and three dimensional pieces made on a variety of different surfaces with alternative tools. Some work will be for sale.

Animal Magic

Listen to wonderful animal and dinosaur stories, make finger puppets, fill in your own animal passort with an animal stamp trail around the museum and don't miss the face painting! 4-7pm suitable for ages up to 7.
The Soldiers of Oxfordshire are also opening their museum for:
‘Stories of World War One’
A lively and thought-provoking workshop with internationally acclaimed children’s author Tony Bradman.
Looking through the eyes of different characters, fire your imagination with moving stories of adventure and heroism in The Great War.
