Housed in a beautiful timber-framed, reed-thatched early C16th cottage, with colourful pargetting. It is the oldest domestic building in the market town of Dereham. It houses displays of Dereham's local history and the archaeology of the surrounding area, in the Breckland region of central Norfolk. The Museum was founded, and is still run, by volunteer members of the Dereham Antiquarian Society. The Society's collection of historic artefacts and documents is a valuable community and educational resource.
