Living Laboratory: Richard Pare on Le Corbusier and Konstantin Melnikov

  • 21 March — 11 May 2014 *on now

Pare’s fascination with modernist architecture shines through his vast collection of images taken over several decades. Living Laboratory will illustrate how he photographs buildings, taking care to reveal both their many subtleties and magnificent monumentality. His perceptive point of view brings into play dramatic use of light, as well as varied weather conditions and seasons.

While Pare’s work covers many subjects, Living Laboratory reveals his admiration for Le Corbusier and Konstantin Melnikov, two of the finest and earliest proponents of modernist principles in architecture.

Suitable for

  • Any age

Chris Kenny - Utopia

Chris Kenny: The Flowers That Did In Eden Bloom

  • 26 April — 11 May 2014

In a series of painstakingly constructed works using found materials, West London-based artist Chris Kenny examines and muses on the notion of Paradise: our attempt to define it, build it, reach it or perhaps remember it. Employing text cut from books, map fragments and abandoned landscape paintings, Kenny creates a series of assemblages, stories and collage-constructions. Rearranging the materials into new configurations, he subverts their original meaning to ponder on the theme of heaven and pastoral bliss.

Ealing Open 2014

  • 24 May — 21 June 2014

This year PM Gallery will be hosting the 8th Ealing Open. All artists aged 18 or over who are living, working or studying in the borough are invited to submit a piece of artwork for display in the Ealing Open exhibition.

Local artists have always responded with enthusiasm and embraced the opportunity to participate in a large-scale exhibition, at West London’s largest professional art gallery. The Ealing Open attracts an eclectic mix of styles and media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, video, photography and installation. Many of the works will be for sale.
