Annie's War

'Annie's War' is an event for schools that offers an active exploration of life in Norfolk during World War I, seen through the eyes of a local girl. Meet Gracie the Nurse and discover how she cares for wounded troops. Work alongside Olive the Landswoman out in the fields with our Suffolk Punch Horses. Experience an Edwardian school lesson and discover how the Great War even reached the classroom. Listen to stories from the trenches told by Jack the Solider and handle some of his kit. Come together with the rest of the village to raise money for troops with a good old-fashioned sing song and magic lantern show.

Village at War

  • 24 — 25 August 2014 10am-5pm

Meet British and American costumed characters from the Second World War. Stroll round displays military and civilian vehicles and tap your feet to 1940s music from Timescape.

Commemorate the centenary of the First World War on Gressenhall Farm and discover an encampment of the local 5th Battalion Norfolk Regiment. The guides are doing their bit for the war effort. Find out more in their 1914 camp.

Don't miss the Dakota flypast on the Monday (part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - weather permitting).
