The collection includes items from Prehistoric to modern times representing the lives of the inhabitants of the Essex parishes of Barking and Dagenham. The display areas include a reconstruction council 1945 living room and kitchen, a Victorian Servants Parlour of the 1890s and a Barking chemists shop.

London's Open Gardens Squares

  • 14 June 2014 10am-4pm

A day to celebrate the gardens of Valence House by exploring the newly planted Herb Garden, taking in the WW2 Victory Plot and viewing the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Oak. Demonstrations of country crafts will be available, and you will be able to enjoy a cream tea.
