Chinese Export Fans

Chinese Export Fans

  • 5 September — 31 December 2015

The final exhibition for 2015 is an exciting collaborative project between The Fan Museum and Hong Kong-based author, collector and philanthropist, Edwin Mok.

A mutual admiration for the art and craft of Chinese fans recently led to the kindling of a friendship between The Fan Museum’s founder and Mr Mok. Following several animated discussions, it was agreed that an exhibition showcasing the very best of Chinese export fan design was, quite simply, a must!

The Museum’s rich collection of Chinese export fans will be augmented with highlights from Mr Mok’s private collection alongside sumptuously embroidered textiles and ceramics. Scheduled to coincide with Asian Art in London, keep an eye out for news of exhibition-related events and workshops which planned to run alongside the exhibition.
