The Cuming Museum's collection is unique and eclectic. When the museum opened in 1906 it was described as "the British Museum in miniature". The collection ranges from natural history, science, costume and textiles to world collections covering at least 50 different countries. The collection was put together by the Cuming family between 1788 and 1902. You can find out about the collection at www.southwarkcollections.org.uk

A beginner’s guide to clay; Slab work, tiles and slip decoration: The Cuming Museum @ InSpire.
Get inspired by this series of three practical workshops exploring the craft and creative potential of clay. Led by artist Judith Lunn, participants will be shown a range of construction and decorative techniques to create their own ceramic pieces to take home. Drop in for one workshop or develop your skills over the course of three sessions.
The workshops are free and there is no need to book. Places are limited to 15 and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Registration is from 5.30pm on the evening of each session.
