The Museum of Croydon is built on the fascinating objects and stories of the people who have lived, loved and worked in Croydon.

The displays cover the history of Croydon from 1800 to the present day, with changing exhibitions in our Croydon NOW area and temporary exhibition gallery.

Moving to London: 50th anniversary of the London Borough of Croydon

'Moving to London' explores, through objects, photographs and personal stories, the regeneration of the 1960s and its impact on the County Borough of Croydon and Urban District Council of Coulsdon & Purley; the amalgamation of the two to form the London Borough of Croydon in 1965; and its growth and development into the early 1970s.

In spring 2016, the Museum of Croydon looks back at the collection from Grange Wood, as the first recognised council museum for Croydon. On display are a selection of objects from this former museum as well as information as to where its collections are now...

The original home of the Riesco collection was Heathfield House, in this exhibition we will look back at the history of the house and its many residents over the years.
