With imaginative dioramas and static displays the museum traces the development of Army Flying from pre World War I to today's moden Army Air Corps. An inspiring and profound tribute to the men and machines that have fulfilled the Army's vital battlefield roles of observation, reconnaissance and offensive action from the air. With over 35 fixed winged and rotary aircraft on display, including the largest collection of military gliders in Europe, the story of the British Army Aviation is told in five distinct parts.
We now also offer an insight into what life was like on the Home Front during World War 2 with our new 1940s House

Primary Education Programme at The Museum of Army Flying (history/literacy/science)

The Primary Education Programme provides a unique learning opportunity outside the classroom. Through the programme pupils learn about life on the Home Front, and use the collection as a focus for exploring and testing science and design technology principles. The programme is targeted at KS2 class visits to the museum and can be tailored to meet individual needs. Themes explored include: The evacuee experience, how people protected themselves during the war, how homes were different during the 1940s and wartime propaganda. The science and design technology workshops give pupils the opportunity to explore Shelters, Helmets and Headwear, Parachutes or Gliders
