Exhibition: BBC Walking With Dinosaurs Exhibition, The Beacon, Whitehaven, June 11 – September 4 2011

Supplemented by enough workshops and activity sessions to distract anyone from the TV, the Beacon’s summer exhibition takes the science behind the award-winning BBC One series to explore the story of Prehistoric predatory further.

“We are so excited to be hosting this amazing exhibition,” says curator Charlotte Stead, pointing to the interactive elements of the reptilian invasion.

“You can look into a dinosaur aquarium and even be chased by a dinosaur in their own landscape.”

Original scale models used in the small screen digital animations, large-format graphics, computer games and replicas of Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops skulls also feature.

The models take the Beacon’s Harbour Gallery as centre stage, but will also be spread throughout the venue.

  • Open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-4.30pm (also Monday during school holidays). Admission £5/£1.50.
