Freud Museum

Interpret your dreams! This virtual exhibition links to the whole text of Sigmund Freud's Interpretation of Dreams as well as using European art and architecture to illustrate key dream themes and their history from ancient Mesopotamia to the 10th century. Another virtual exhibition Conflict and Culture explores the psychoanalytical work of Freud in terms of its influence on popular culture. The site is exceptionally vast and well laid out. The homepage represents the Freud home itself and once entered it opens onto a choice of either physical space (the floors of the house) or imaginative space (the Dream site with all its attached links to psychoanalytical themes). Taking the first option you can explore Freud's home with its collection of antiquities and, of course, the famous couch.Branching out from there, you can explore an interesting collection of photographs describing the lives of the Freud family, their friends and visitors. As well as detailing the life and work of Sigmund Freud, (Freud as an Englishman, Freud at Work) the site celebrates the life and work of his daughter Anna Freud, the child psychologist. Throughout the journey, there are links to psychoanalytical and mental health support information and organisations.
