Chris Williams takes The art of the Night Sky to the Herschel Museum of Astronomy in Bath

Having first taken his cosmic capers to the Herschel in 2009, Chris Williams – a man who knows he isn’t exaggerating when he calls himself an “astronomical artist” – returns to the Bath venue’s Caroline Lucretia Gallery with some of his new works.

Williams has the good fortune to be a fine craftsman, designer and a passionate star watcher, and he works with wood and a variety of printing techniques to emphasise the power of the night skies.

For Printing the Planets, he has taken inspiration from elements of astronomy, cosmology and physics.
