LoveSport is part of an initiative to highlight the benefits of sport and staying active

Exhibition: LoveSport, New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester, March 28 – October 4 2009

This high-energy interactive exhibition gives visitors the chance to get competitive through contrasting physical, technological and psychological aspects of sport.

A number of simulators and interactive displays offer a range of sporting activities, including the chance to impersonate Gareth Southgate, Chris Waddle and Roberto Baggio in Penalty Pressure, slam dunks in Hectic Hoops and lycra-clad endurance in a Tour de France simulator.

The show is based around interactive elements

The Sporting Body also tests co-ordination, balance and strength, revealing how different sports require the use of different muscle groups.

Technological innovation has played a key part in the record-breaking achievements of modern athletes around today, showcased here in a range of cutting edge exhibits including insights into psychology, nutrition, drugs, equipment and developments for paralympians.

By delving into the depths of your brain, The Sporting Mind section of the exhibition uncovers how our reactions and concentration affect sporting performance.

In the final section of the exhibition, Over To You, viewers can then compare scores and try new ways of getting fit.
