Kenny Baker played R2-D2, Silas Carson was the Jedi Master Ki-Adi Mundi, Rusty Goff showed his thespian dexterity by playing a Jawa and a Gonk Droid, and Jeremy Bulloch was bounty-hunting helmeted vigilante Boba Fett.
These Star Wars stars may have had their claims to fame shielded by sabers and hoods, but now you can meet them at the National Space Centre for yourself.
You can also win prizes for dressing as your favourite intergalactic big screener, sample a Lightsaber class in a special Jedi School and see a massive display of props and studio scale models made by experts from the Replica Prop Board.
A Phantom Make-up session will explain the birth of Darth Maul and a limited edition Clone Wars Comic will be given out free for National Comic Book Day on Saturday.
- Open 10am-5pm. Admission £13/£11 (free for under-5s). Book online.
