Now the National Museum of Flight hangars are packed with aircraft that reveal how flight developed from the Wright brothers to Concorde. Join us today and let your imagination fly!

The Jet Age

Have you experienced jet travel? Take a look at the UK's only Boeing 707 cockpit and cabin. Step inside and see what it was like to travel on board!
Discover how the aircraft was made and watch interviews of passengers and crew.
Uniforms, baggage trolleys, airline jet engines and an airport fire engine all help tell the story of the airline that ushered in the 'Jet Age'.

Holiday History: The First World War

Discover the role East Fortune airfield played in the First World War this summer.

With the outbreak of the First World War, the British Admiralty was tasked with establishing a series of home defence airfields. East Fortune was chosen due to its proximity to the North Sea.

Monday to Thursday only.

Airshow 2014: Scotland's National Airshow

  • 26 July 2014 10am-5pm

Scotland's National Airshow is a spectacular day out for all the family. See aircraft old and new take to the skies for an afternoon of breathtaking aerial displays, including the return of the Red Arrows to East Fortune.

Back on the ground you can meet the pilots and explore our hangars. Then take part in children's activities, fairground rides and pick up a tasty snack.

The Wheels and Wings Show

Join us for a thrilling display of gravity-defying stunts with the amazing White Helmets motorcycle display team. See classic cars and working vehicles then have a go on a Segway, test your mountain bike skills, and hear talks from engineers and transport experts.
