Night at the Museum - An Ancient Egyptian Adventure

  • 16 May 2015 5-9pm

Should we be scared of the Rise of the Mummies or do they just want to cuddle a meerkat? We know we do! Join us for this family-friendly Egyptian adventure down at the Zoology Museum, which is appropriately crawling with live animals... Scary scorpions, hissing snakes, and those cheeky meerkats are all loose and looking to see who wants to get a little closer! And if you're keen to track down some more animals, why not follow our trail to see if you can find all those noble creatures that were immortalised as Egyptian Gods. You can indulge in that eye make-up envy by having your face painted like a pharaoh and have your photo taken dressed like an Egyptian. Our storyteller will intrigue you with tales of gruesome practices from the tomb, and give you some tips on how to mummify someone...useful information for the weekend ahead!
There are lots of fun crafts to try in our new education and events space, a short cobbled walk from the King’s Museum. where we'll also be holding a special one-night-only exhibition of rare objects from ancient Egypt, including a mummified cat and crocodile. This event will take place in the Zoology Museum and King's Museum.
