The museum is located in Strathpeffer's charming old Victorian Station where trains brought visitors in the village’s heyday as a Spa.

The museum tells the story of childhood in the Highlands of Scotland, recording tales of childhood amongst hardworking crofters and townsfolk, where money and luxuries were scarce, and life followed the satisfying rhythm of the seasons.

Celebrate Scotland!

  • 17 May 2014 11am-4pm

Come along and take your place alongside local musicians, artists and dancers to help celebrate the very best of Scottish and Highland culture. There’s tons to do including a variety of performances exploring both traditional and modern elements of dance and music and if all that gets your feet highland flinging then why not try a street dance class or music workshop? If it’s your imagination that’s more active then you can have a go at creating a tug-o-war team or caber tosser in the Highland Games themed puppet making workshop. Whatever your forte, there'll be something for all the family.
