Revealing Sky Arts documentary goes behind-the-scenes at Museums at Night 2011

By Culture24 Staff | 21 April 2011

From Chatham and Newcastle to London and Bath, a behind-the-scenes documentary will follow the story of Museums at Night this May.

The Sky Arts film will pack in as many events as possible, illustrating the nationwide diversity of the best-loved night-time cultural event of the year.

A dramatic teaser released today shows a table which will star in the Operating Theatre's escapade – built low to allow easy removal of body parts – as well as the saws used to cut them off and artworks illustrating the horror of figures forced to lose their limbs.

The powerful paintings from Jan Gossaert’s Renaissance, the National Gallery exhibition at the centre of their Renaissance Night of music, stories, tours and activities, will also be part of the 30-minute programme.

  • Museums at Night will be screened on Sky Arts 2 on June 3 2011 at 6.30pm. The campaign runs May 13-15 2011. See the trailer below:
