Going skating is one of the perfect ways to celebrate the winter season – and for a glamorous venue, it’s hard to top the ice rink at Somerset House in London.

Somerset House, London

Glide with your date
For romantics amongst you, there’s the sumptuous location – what date would fail to be impressed by the spectacular neo-classical surroundings of Somerset House?

Catch up with friends
As the sun sets, cut a groove on the ice during the special DJ nights and then sample winter warmers in Tom’s skate lounge and cupcakes and more in the Tiffany Tuck Shop.

Family-friendly fun
We were impressed by the welcoming and efficient service provided by the Somerset Ice Rink team, especially when sorting out our skating boots and when one of the younger members of our skating party needed an extra hand out on the ice from a friendly skating steward.

There’s also a special section for under-eights where they can skate with penguins to help them get their balance on the ice.
