Worlds in miniature: tiny figures standing motionless on station platforms, steam shunters disappearing into sidings, rattling miniature trains vanishing into papier-mâché hillsides…if this is the kind of thing that fires your imagination then you will want to visit Stevenage Museum on Saturday August 7.

A free afternoon billed as suitable for all ages, it will treat visitors to a wistful world of miniature railway layouts by the men whose consuming passion built them.

Local model railway clubs on hand will include Stevenage and District Model Railway Club, de Havilland Model Railway Club and a group of enthusiasts who sound like they know what they like – the Stevenage and District N Gauge Group.

And all of them will be more than happy to answer your questions and chat about their hobby.

August 7 2010, 12pm – 3.30pm.
