The new-look Bedford Museum (above) is holding a sleepover for Museums at Night 2009

The impressive new-look Bedford Museum will be running its first ever sleepover as part of Museums at Night 2009, inviting children aged between seven and 12 to sleep among Victorian rural room sets in the Museum’s ground floor gallery.

Head of Learning and Access Jo Roberts says there will be a range of creative activities and a "spooky torch-lit tour of the galleries" on the evening, as well as small group tours to explore "hidden treasures" behind the scenes.

The communal slumber begins on Saturday night and includes breakfast the following morning.

Runs May 16 – 17 2009, 7pm – 9am. Admission £20, £10 per adult (maximum two children per adult.) Booking required (places limited), call 01234 353323 or visit the museum.
