Event: Dragons' Den, Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, January 30-31 2010

Part of the ever-inventive Armouries' Dangerously Entertaining programme for 2010, this weekend festival revolves around a series of highly visual, family-friendly live performances.

It begins with a traditional Chinese Lion Dance on Saturday, followed by Thai Chi rumbles, origami workshops, armed Samurai warriors and Sushi making demonstrations and tastings courtesy of the head chef at the Leeds branch of hipster restaurant chain Yo Sushi.

Special guided tours of the Armouries' Oriental collection will also explore the history of Asian civilisations, accompanied by dragon puppet and helmet making for children.

"January is traditionally a grey and miserable month," reflected Museum director Peter Armstrong, looking ahead to two days of "colour and excitement".

"The cultures of Asia tend to be more diverse than those of Europe and the tours give a fascinating insight into the history of the East. We'll have some great displays and performances."

Runs 10am-4pm. Admission free (small charges may apply for some activities). Check out the daily schedule for exact times.
