They are just two of the 20 prizes on offer as Wiltshire Heritage Museum hosts a charity fundraising ‘auction of promises’ on Sunday September 12.
The Museum, which is home to the Bush Barrow treasures, one of the most significant Bronze Age collections in the UK, is hosting the afternoon auction to raise funds for the nationally important museum, which is mainly funded through private sources.
Museum Director David Dawson is promising a sale “packed with unique experiences” – lots range from a professional chef coming round to your house to cook a slap up meal to a guided tour “behind the scenes” at Avebury World Heritage Site and Alexander Keiller Museum.
Alan Aldridge, the well-known local auctioneer, will be the man with the gavel when bidding begins at 2.30pm but visitors are encouraged to arrive early to familiarise themselves with the lots. Silent bids can be accepted up until 12noon on Sunday September 12.
With further lots on offer ranging from paintballing and a meal for two at the Bear Hotel in Devizes to a doll’s house and your own bespoke geophysical survey, somebody’s Sunday is going to be a singular but rewarding day.
