Specially made replicas of many of John Lennon’s childhood belongings are being displayed at his former family home in Liverpool.
Lennon lived at ‘Mendips’ in Menlove Avenue from 1945 to 1963, and his wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, has authorised the exhibition there to mark his 65th birthday and the 25th anniversary of his death.
The new items include replicas of four of his childhood paintings that he made at Mendips, a copy of his passport and even a replica of one of his baby teeth.

Simon Osborne, National Trust Liverpool Properties’ Manager said: “The items are all from personal family archives, and can now be viewed in their original setting. This is particularly poignant in terms of John’s paintings, which he would have displayed in the house for family and visitors to see.”
Yoko Ono Lennon bought the house the 2002. She donated the property to the National Trust who, after restoring it to how it would have looked like in Lennon’s day, opened it to the public in 2003.
