Museums at Night 2010: Night at the Guildhall, The Guildhall, Norwich, May 15-16 2010
Norwich HEART is giving children the chance to experience Norwich's Medieval Guildhall after the lights go out.
On Saturday May 15 spooky adventures for campers aged 9-14 kick off with a tour of the architecturally ambitious Guildhall. During the hour-long session, they will learn about Victorian life and Victorian crime and punishment, before taking part in their own mock trial.
Children will work with experienced Magistrates to act out the trial of Alex Brown, who is alleged to have stolen an iPod worth £100 from a shop.
Popular storyteller Marion Leeper will entertain the kids by telling a Romany story of an imprisoned traveller girl who cannot be kept in a prison, eventually talking her way into marrying a prince.

This will be followed by a tasty midnight feast and an overnight stay in the Sword Room or Council Chamber. Make sure the kids bring a sleeping bag to roll out under the historic vault of Guildhall’s undercroft.
Board games and a film will be an option for all the brave ones who’d like to stay awake.
Night at the Guildhall is a chance for kids to help a good cause and there will be prize giving for construction models of the Guildhall.
Runs 7pm-9am. Admission £20 (includes breakfast), spaces limited. Call 01603 599577 or email info@heritagecity.org for more.
