Introduced for last year's Museums at Night festival, Connect10 invites ten leading artists to pitch an event for the night. Any venue can ask for the artist whose idea they like the look of most, with their eventual destination decided by public vote.

Each successful application will receive £2,000 to lay on their event.

The proposals on the table include a huge interactive multi-coloured map of a community using thousands of vessels, which will be created at the venue which hosts Catlin Art Prize winner Julia Vogl, to music, discussions and spontaneous creations with Martin Creed, who won the Turner Prize in 2001.

The venues going through to the next round will be anounced on Tuesday February 19 when the Connect10 public vote begins.

  • Museums at Night 2013 takes place in hundreds of museums, galleries and heritage sites across the UK during the evenings of Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 16-18.
  • The Connect10 competition is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
