There are less than two weeks to go for venues to submit their event ideas for Connect10 (deadline 31st January), Culture24’s innovative competition to hook up ten contemporary artists with museums and galleries for an event during the Museums at Night weekend of May 2013.

“Last year’s Connect10 competition was highly successful with artists heading out right across the UK for some very popular Museums at Night events,” he says.
“But this year promises to be even better. The list of ten artists is very exciting and the increased money available for each venue means it’s really worth winning.
“Venues find the process of taking part and mobilising supporters during the public vote really rewarding. And even those who don’t win will get some money towards staging a Museums at Night event.”
Last year a public vote saw Bob and Roberta Smith host his Museums at Nightclub at the Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne, Polly Morgan perform a live taxidermy demonstration at the Victoria Gallery and Museum in Liverpool and Bompas and Parr surround the ss Great Britain with green, luminous jelly.
If you are a venue interested in getting involved, check out the Museums at Night blog for all the details on the full list of participating artists and how to enter.
