Pip the Jubilee procession to a glimpse of Spider T as part of Museums at Night in Humberside

In just over a fortnight, the Spider T will leave its Keadby Lock home to take part in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, a procession of ships stretching more than 12 miles which will be the longest British flotilla of modern times.
The occasion is a prestigious reward for the team who bought it in 1994, spending 12 years restoring it. But before the Queen gets to have a look at this 19-metre long iron hull, visitors to Museums at Night in Humberside will get the inside track on how it was rebuilt from the people behind it, who will also be presenting displays on white hot riveting, discussing the Jubilee and sailing a working model of the Spider in the canal which flows next to the vessel.
Eighty-five-year-old floating arachnids don’t come much more beautiful than this – enjoy it in the moonlight before it goes under the national spotlight.
