Polly Morgan is a member of the Guild of Taxidermists. Her creations, which have been collected by Kate Moss among others, aim to substantially shift your perceptions of stuffed and living animals.
The subjects of her shows are honoured and made beautiful, reflecting her passion for animals and respect for their bodies after death.
The bodies are donated by owners and vets after natural or accidental deaths, and they leave you contemplating the fleeting, fragile nature of mortality, as well as marvelling at the precision of her statuesque miniatures.
Dubbed "Britain's hottest bird stuffer" when she was given a pitch at Banksy's temporary Santa's Ghetto gallery seven years ago, Morgan has also won praise from another high-profile practitioner of her speciality, Damien Hirst, and has had her works collected by Charles Saatchi.
She appeared alongside Hirst, Jeff Koons and Grayson Perry in a major show at Pallant House Gallery last year.
Polly Morgan will be performing a live demonstration of taxidermy as part of the event, which will take place on the evening of May 18.
