Ryan Gander's 2011 Artangel Commission, Locked Room Scenario, invited visitors to explore a shadowy and enigmatic warehouse in Hoxton where multiple pathways offered a multitude of meanings and responses.
It's probably one of the best benchmarks to date for an artist whose diverse practice takes in everything from architecture, sculptural installation and painting to film typography, design and fictional narrative.
For Connect10 he returns to one of his best-known performances, Loose Associations (2002), in which he draws comparisons and connections between a disparate cast of fascinating topics and characters.
Part lucid dream, part free association, the performance offers an arc of thought referencing JRR Tolkien, ciphers and codes, London's Barbican Centre, the Midland Hotel, Erno Goldfinger and Gander's Aunty Deva.
The ongoing performance is accompanied by films and slides, offering an insight into this fascinatingly non-linear artist whose works are often open to multiple interpretations.
Be prepared for a journey with one of the most thought-provoking and diverse artists of his generation.
Ryan Gander will perform Loose Associations Lecture Number 10 (LAX) on Friday May 18.
