Culture crawlers in Newcastle or London might have packed in more top venues than you can shake a torchlight at during Museums at Night, but now a hotly-anticipated Sky Arts documentary will give everyone a taste of the breadth of experience which took place across the country for this year’s campaign.
As well as Newcastle and Gateshead – where their encounters included circus cavorters – the Sky camera crew headed to the Renaissance Evening at the National Gallery, witnessed gruesome operation re-enactments at London’s Old Operating Theatre and imagined the Vietnam conflict at The Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare.
Kensington Palace’s Enchanted Palace adventure and a sleepover at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham will also be featured – aside from that, the only secret we can give away is a glowing report from the production team, who were posed a hectic schedule by all the fun going on.
Following the trail of a hugely successful year for Museums at Night, their efforts should make for illuminative teatime viewing.
- Catch the show on Friday (June 3) at 6.30pm on Sky Arts 2 HD.
