Neuroscientists don't get many gigs on the music festival circuit, but then most music festivals are not held at the ICA.

Dr Carolyn McGettigan and Professor Vincent Walsh are among partcipants in a five day weekend at the London venue, given over to exploring the grey area between electronica and classical music.

Along with the talk and the debate will be film by Matthew Shlomowitz, workshops from Dirty Electronics, art from The Pattern Foundry and of course performance.

Lucy Railton's KammerKlang series comes into its own with an extended event this Friday. Expect to see works by John Cage, Earle Brown and Morton Feldman.

Then on Saturday night Warp records hook up with the London Sinfonetta as Mira Calix and Larry Goves collaborate on a new composition with the hopeful title Exchange and Return. They share a bill with Will Dutta, who performs on both piano and turntables.

  • Notation and Interpretation is an ICA Live Weekend and runs until February 20 2011. Admission to performances is free but booking advised. Tickets for the debate on the 17th are £12 (£11/£10). Call 020 7930 3647 or visit www.ica.org.uk for more details.
