From fleeing bishops to saviour kings, Norwich Cathedral has witnessed pretty much everything during the past 900 years. For Museums at Night the cloister and labyrinth will make for an "unusual" spine-chilling journey in the dark.
Night time visitors are invivted to take on the cathedral’s labyrinth and find the right path through all its twists and turns, perhaps encountering the ghosts of monks past roving in the moonlight.
Once the labyrinth has been conquered there will be the chance to enjoy some scary stories over soup and some nibbles in the Cathedral library. Thomas of Monmouth and his anti-semitic polemic The Life and Miracles of William kick off a string of murky medieval tales that unite scholarly research and manuscripts with the rich past of the historic building.

Librarian at the Cathedral, Gudrun Warren says: “Having got people’s interest sparked by the stories we’ve carefully chosen, the labyrinth tops the night out off. A spiritual journey on such an evening could only add more to what what visitors generally experience.”
