Doing little to dispel the perception of fearless Scotsmen, a group of admirably mad volunteers are plunging from the Scottish Mining Museum’s Lady Victoria Colliery this weekend on a 700-foot zipline plummeting towards the ground.
Their daredevil stunt comes in aid of leukaemia charity Anthony Nolan, and viewers can enjoy plenty of action for themselves courtesy of pony rides, a climbing wall, magic and puppet shows, face painting, a bouncy castle, falconry displays and creepy crawly appearances. Local bands, musicians, clowns and arts and crafts stalls are also on call for your entertainment.
Sunday (August 29 2010), runs 11am – 4pm. Magic and puppet show in the Black Diamond Theatre every hour between 11.15am and 3.15pm. Craft fair in the Power House, 11am – 4pm. Admission £5/£2.50 (family ticket £10).
