Against the bygone roadsigns and faded glamour of Derbyshire’s Crich Tramway Village, it’s hard to imagine a groovier retro day out than this annual invasion on Sunday, welcoming classic Beetles as well as buses, notchbacks and cream cabriolets in recent years.

“The Tramway Village is an ideal setting for classic vehicle rallies,” nods Cara Marchant, the Marketing Manager at the home of the National Tramway Museum, pointing to her favourite part of the show.

“A highlight is the street parades, where the Volkswagens drive in convoy down our cobbled street among the vintage trams.”
