200 Years of the Tiger and Python - A New Work by Artist Bob Heath
- 16 May 2014 6:30-9pm
The Festival of Wonders events at The Whitaker will centre around the bi-centenary of The Tiger and Python exhibit, 'a remarkable piece of taxidermy', and a rare survival of William Bullock's London Museum, listed in his catalogue of 1814.
This event will see the unveiling of a specially commissioned painting of the 'Tiger and the Python' by Artist Bob Heath, accompanied by an exhibition of 'Eminent Victorians'; a recent series of paintings which explore such dialogues as empire, governance, the UK's place and self projection in a post - Victorian world.
